Aquariums for Corallimorpharia

Corallimorphs are not very demanding regarding water quality or water motion. Therefore they may be maintained in the simplest possible aquaria. This combined with their attractive appearance makes them an excellent choice for novice aquarists.

While they may be maintained in more sophisticated reef aquaria, corallimorphs can be grown quite well in old-style undergravel-filtered aquaria or in the "modern" natural systems employing live sand, rock, and little more than an airstone or water pump for circulation. They can be maintained with fishes in aquaria in which the nitrate level climbs to very high concentration, though they do not appreciate chronic low pH. They seem to expand most beautifully when the pH is 8.2 or higher.
