Movement

In one of the few7 studies done on corallimorpharian locomotion Chadwick (1991) showed that the temperate coral limorph, Coryn-actis cal if o mica, could move up to 14 mm a month. Not a very rapid movement, but given enough time, colonies can cover wide areas. The slow rate of movement compared to other anthozoans such as sea anemones, should not come as a surprise since, unlike sea anemones, corallimorphs lack basal muscles, thereby severely limiting their ability to move laterally. No formal studies have been done on the other corallimorpharian genera but it seems likely that movement over the substratum is not a very effective way for corallimorphs to colonize new areas.

Fish are generally easy to keep although do they need quite a bit of attention. Puppies and kittens were the typical pet but now fish are becoming more and more frequent in house holds.
